On Saturday 1st April, 3rd class pupil Caroline Coughlan played with the Kilkenny RFC Mini Girls in the Aviva Stadium at half time during the Leinster v’s Wasps Heineken Cup Quarter Final game. Despite playing in front of 50,000 people, the girls were unfazed and served up a great half time entertainment game. This was truly a great experience for all the girls. Well done Caroline!
Congratulations to the ‘Firoda A’ group who came 2nd place in the recent Kilkenny Music Trad Festival held in St. Canice’s Primary School in Kilkenny. The group consists of Eoghan, Kyara, James, Leo and Michael. All played the bodhrán and the tin whistle whilst James played the banjo and mandolin in addition. There was further success for Firoda when the ‘Firoda D’ group came third. Conor and Adam were members of this group. Conor played the tin whistle whilst Adam played the bodhrán. A special word of thanks must go to Karena Dowling Dunny who has tutored these groups for the past few months. Well Done to all involved!
