The children had great fun dressing up as their favourite characters from storybooks on Friday to celebrate World Book Day which took place on Thursday. Every child received a World Book Day token which can be used in any bookshop against the purchase of a book. Competition winners were Holly (Senior Infants), Cara (2nd Class) and Leo (4th Class). Well Done everyone! Check out ‘Our Photo Album’ for more exclusive pics!
Miss Kathy Ryan is working with 5th & 6th Class setting up our very own vegetable garden. Kilkenny County Council have very kindly sponsored a compost bin and work is underway to get the garden set up. The pupils have signed up for Sow and Grow and were delighted when we were one of the 500 schools selected to receive free seeds, growing cups and wall charts. Please watch this space for further photos and updates!
Heritage Expert Eileen Canny recently visited the school to give a talk on ecology. She visited all classrooms. She brought with her samples of deer antlers, bird nests, bats and bees. The children really enjoyed her visit.
