On Tuesday 24th September Michael Fortune from the Heritage in Schools Scheme visited us. Michael spent time with the children in 1st & 2nd, 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th Classes. He talked about our local heritage with us. He showed us how we can find out more information about our local towns land (the meaning of it, Irish words native to the area) and how the area (landscape) has changed over the years. We made necklaces from berries in our groups. He also showed us how to make a wristband from the harvest.
