Infants

Junior and Senior Infants 2021-2022

April/ May/June  2022:

Butterflies, GAA skills, fun on the bus going to swimming, role play of the Three Little Pigs , reading books and playing Samba drums – What a busy start to Term 3!

March 2022:

We are being kept very busy perfecting our number formation and adding numbers together. We also revised our initial sounds this month using Kahoot on the ipads!

Our play area has changed to the Farmers Market so we are learning all about where food comes from and we are taking on the roles of shopkeeper and customer.

January and February 2022:

We are finding out about Spring, working with numicon and learning some basketball skills! We have also been playing tricky word games and preparing for the next hurling season! Our play area is the restaurant and we are enjoying taking on the roles of waiter, chef and customer.

December 2021:

We have been very busy as always in the infant classroom! We sequenced the Nativity in preparation for Christmas. We completed a fun science experiment, making a lava lamp. We also completed lots of Art on Festive Friday!

November 2021:

We have been busy making lighthouses, constructing kites and  doing exercises in the infant classroom!

The children have been working on the number formation of 1 and 6. They experimented with chalk and playdough when doing this.

The children have also been painting some rainbows and learning the correct order of the colours of the rainbow.

   

Junior and Senior Infants have been busy with our new Aistear topic.

We are learning about The Weather and broadcasting our very own weather forecast.

We also have been experimenting with water beads, designing our own mittens for cold weather and playing in the small world play area.
