Firoda Traditional Winners

The Firoda Traditional Music group had a great win recently in the Kilkenny Music Festival. The competition was held in Gaelscoil Osraí and the group, which is just recently formed, performed excellently. Traditional music lessons are held weekly after school by accomplished Traditional Musician, Karina Dowling – of the famed local Dowling Family. Children can learn any traditional instrument such as Flute, Whistle, Banjo, Bodhrán etc. under Karinas excellent tutelage. The local group entered the competition just to gain some experience so they were totally overjoyed to come home with the top prize. Well done to the musicians and indeed to Karina.
