Power Point Winners 2016

ppt1-2016This years Power Point competition measured up very well to the high standard set over the past few years with some excellent entries. Judging was a most difficult task and to say that each and every project could have been a winner is not an exaggeration. In fact, each and every project WAS a winner as the expertise gained by each pupil in presenting their project will stand to them in the future. Such was the high standard that every child was awarded an Easter Egg for their efforts.  However, a number of projects did stand out even though it took hours of judging to separate them. The criteria for judgement was 1. Educational Content and accuracy. 2. Ability to use the Programme. 3. Visual impact. 4. Structure.

In 3rd. place with a visually stunning project on “Dinosaurs” was a joint effort completed by Cian Holohan and Michael Fernandez. In 2nd. place with another stunning and informative project was “The Amazon” presented by Anne Marie Healy and Lauren Power. Choosing an outright winner was an impossible task and in the end the judges had to go for Joint Winners.

Jessica Joyce presented an amazingly interesting and accurate project on “The Tudors”. An interesting choice but the end product was top class and was most deserving of 1st. Prize. The fact that this was Jessica’s first time in the competition made her effort all the more commendable.

Liam Doyle once again produced a project that would do justice to a third year University Student. His presentation on Fitness and Nutrition was simply amazing. The content and accuracy were spot on. The judges even sent this project to the Kilkenny Senior Hurlers Nutritionist and Physical Trainer to check it’s accuracy and both were amazed that a 12 year old produced it. Well done Liam and Jessica on winning 1st. Prize and well done to all the excellent entries.
